Before you start
Open the Morse app and tap 'USD account details'. You'll need your routing number and account number for the steps below.
Add Morse as a bank account in Gusto
The steps are the same whether you're an employee or a contractor in Gusto.
Sign in to Gusto.
Tap 'My Profile' > scroll to the 'Pay' section.
Tap 'Add payment method.' Enter:
Routing number — from your Morse app
Account number — from your Morse app
Account type — Checking
Make sure the account holder name matches your Gusto profile exactly.
Tap 'Save.'
Confirm your account
Gusto sends a test deposit to verify the bank account. Check the Morse app for the amount and enter it in Gusto to confirm. This may take a few days.
For more information, see Verify micro-deposits to link your bank account.
Split your payroll between accounts
Gusto supports splitting direct deposits across up to 5 bank accounts. Set the amounts or percentages under 'My Profile' > 'Pay' > 'Split pay.'
Fees and transfer times
Gusto doesn't charge employees or contractors a fee for direct deposits.
Morse charges a 0.1% fee for international deposits to USD Account Details (free if you live in the United States). See Account Details fees and limits for the full breakdown.
Example: If you live outside the US and receive 4,000 USD from Gusto, you'd pay:
Gusto fee: 0 USD
Morse 0.1% fee: 4.00 USD
You receive: 3,996.00 USD
On your next pay date, Gusto sends the deposit to your Morse account via ACH. Transfer time depends on your employer's Gusto plan. Most employers use 2-day or 4-day processing, meaning your deposit arrives 2–4 business days after your employer runs payroll. Some employers offer next-day or same-day pay.
Ask your employer about their pay speed if you're unsure. ACH transfers don't run on weekends or US federal holidays.
