Morse verifies your identity using a combination of online databases and ID verification services. Verifying your identity helps us keep all Morse users safe.
Your data is encrypted at all times, and our Information Security Management System and processes are ISO 27001 certified.
Why we need your taxpayer identification number
If you're a U.S. resident, Mexico resident, or Brazil resident, you may be asked to provide your Social Security Number (SSN), Clave Única de Registro de Población (CURP), or Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF). This number may be required during the signup process and/or to use certain Morse features.
This is required to:
Verify your identity — your SSN/CURP/CPF helps us confirm who you are and protect your account from fraud.
Comply with regulations — financial regulations, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, require us to verify user identities.
To comply with banking regulations, we may also ask for your tax ID number when you withdraw money to a bank account or for tax reporting purposes.
If you live in a country that supports debit card withdrawals but don’t have an SSN, or prefer not to share it, you can still withdraw US dollars to your debit card.
We keep your data secure
Your security is our priority. Your data is encrypted and stored securely, following strict industry and regulatory standards.
